🏫 About the Department
The School Education Department works to provide equitable, inclusive and quality school education, strengthen foundational literacy and numeracy, improve learning outcomes, support teachers, develop school infrastructure and promote student wellbeing. The 2026–2027 Policy Note describes initiatives across elementary education, secondary and higher secondary education, Samagra Shiksha, curriculum and teacher development, private-school regulation, public examinations, non-formal and adult education, teacher recruitment, public libraries and textbook services.
